How Plush Toys Have Evolved
It's a sad fact, but kids just don't want to find stuffed animals under the holiday tree anymore. Children used to love their teddy bears and other stuffed animals, even long after they grew out of their childhood, but times have changed. Even small babies are accustomed to video games and a variety of interactive toys. These toys have made unanimated plush toys seem boring by comparison.
So, what could manufacturers of plush toys do but make those stuffed pets animated and interactive? That is exactly what has happened today as market demand for toys like the extremely popular Fur Real Friends Biscuit My Lovin Pup expands.
During last year's holiday season, the Biscuit My Lovin Pup was one the biggest selling toys. Parents did whatever they could to find this larger sized, interactive plush toy because they were sure their children would love it. They didn't mind buying this toy because it offers the same wholesome fun and comfort that their own plush toys gave them during their childhood. These plush toys were the same in that manner, but they included the interactive features that today's kids are demanding.
This Fur Real Friend is a very unusual stuffed animal because he can hear his human playmates and is able to respond. He will lift his paw for a shake, wag his tail, or bark on cue. After kids are finished playing with him, Biscuit can cuddle up with the kids for a nap or TV time.
While Biscuit is a fun example of how technology has grown in the toy department, but he's also an example of how the plush toys market has evolved with time. What started out many years ago as an active industry for teddy bears, has now grown to an industry of moving and talking pets that children love in an entirely new way.
The plush toys market has not dried up over the years as people might have predicted. Instead, it has evolved and expanded in order to keep up with the changes. The toy manufacturers have been able to deliver whatever the young market demands. This means a variety of plush toys that sit, bark, talk, dance, sing, or even roam around the house have been designed.
You can find pet dinosaurs that wander around the house, interacting with any family members they pass on their journey. They eventually lie down in a spot they've chosen to take a nice long nap. While the technology behind these advanced interactive pets is still in its infancy and the dinosaur's battery life is rather short, think about what will evolve with these toys in ten years.
Parents that don't want to deal with the hassles of a real puppy can buy the Fur Real Friends Biscuit for their children. This smaller sized pet makes noise and moves their heads when their backs are rubbed. Parents that have dinosaur loving kids can buy tome dinosaurs that their children can interact with throughout the day.
It's an unfortunate fact that children are not happy to find teddy bears under the holiday tree anymore. Parents will likely hear their children say, "it doesn't do anything" one time too many. This has created a demand for interactive plush toys and the toy manufacturers have stepped up to the challenge. The home traveling dinosaur and Fur Real Friends Biscuit My Lovin Pup are big improvements over the plush toys of the past, but you can rest assured that toys will continue to evolve with time.
